The review concerns the concert of the Orchestra of Colours conducted by Miltos Logiadis at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, on 20 July 2001, dedicated to Iannis Xenakis after his recent death. The programme included “Eonta” and “Aïs”, and in the second part “The Sea” by Nikos Skalkottas. The review presents Xenakis’s “stochastic music” and asks whether a mathematical relation can acquire artistic substance.
