A three-day conference titled The Arts in the Greek School: Present and Future was organized by the Department of Theater Studies and the Department of Music Studies of the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Department of Theater of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Higher School of Fine Arts, and collaboration the Institute for Educational Policy of the Ministry of Education. The conference took place on October 11, 12 and 13 of 2018.
The main objective of the conference is to highlight the critical position of the arts in education policy for the future school and the production of educational material. 350 spokespersons, members of the academic and school community from all over Greece, in parallel sessions and workshops, examine a variety of issues: the dynamics of contemporary practices in teaching arts, the synergy of the arts within the school reality, the collaboration of educational artistic disciplines with each other or with other teachers, the relation of art to schools with art in the community, the role of art in special education and teaching science, history, language, Modern Greek literature, ancient Greek etc.
Tasos Kolydas designed and developed the conference management system, in which all the functions for the preparation and realization of the conference were carried out. Functions such as the judgment submissions by the Scientific Committee, attendees registration, workshops selection, conference website, calendar, statistics, etc.
He also presented a paper titled "Digital score as a means of cultivating creativity while teaching music ensembles in music schools". The purpose of the paper is to examine the benefits of using digital score while teaching musical ensembles. More specifically, in what ways can the digital score serve the needs of the lesson taking into account the ZPD at both individual and group level.
